HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall junior swimmer Katie Kramer (Naples, Fla.) has been named to the Conference USA Women’s Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team. The conference announced the six-athlete team Wednesday.
Kramer has a 3.91 GPA as an economics major. She will graduate in May after three years at Marshall and start her MBA in the fall. Kramer is a member of the University's Honors College and a Yeager Scholar, the highest scholarship award offered by the university.
"This is such an honor for such an amazing young lady," Marshall coach Bill Tramel said.
Kramer spent part of her summer studying in England with other members of the Honors College.
"Her academic success gave her the opportunity to study at Oxford this past summer. What's impressing is that she puts the same energy into sport as she does her academics," Tramel said.
Athletically, Kramer has competed in eight meets for the Thundering Herd this season. She set a season-best time in the 100-yard butterfly in a quad meet against Cumberlands, Western Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Kramer has been recognized by Conference USA in the past, as a two-time member of the C-USA Honor Roll and recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
"It's been an absolute joy to be a part of Katie's college experience," Tramel said.
